ABOUT

Fractal reminds us of a child—simple and beautiful on the outside, yet profoundly complex and perfectly ordered within. Just like fractals, where each new growth follows the path laid out before it, we believe that the foundation for healthy growth is built during childhood. We see childhood as the starting point where the patterns of our future begin to take shape. At Fractal Pediatric Capital (FPC), we invest in scalable solutions that honor this natural pattern—ensuring every child has the space, support, and opportunity to thrive.

Healthy children are the fractals of a healthy society.

"A baby in heart failure without access to a specialist in Nepal. A delayed brain bleed diagnosis that leaves a child permanently disabled in Slovakia. A teenager dying from diarrhea in Sudan. A paralyzed soccer player in the U.S. after spinal cord injury whose hope of walking again vanished because he was too young to be included in clinical trials studying emerging therapies. These aren’t headlines. These are real children I’ve cared for over the last two decades—from a small farming village in Slovakia to the frontlines of Sudan and Nepal, to the pediatric ICUs of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco. In each place, I’ve seen unimaginable suffering, the desperation of parents, and the compassion of dedicated staff trying tirelessly with a mere 5% of FDA-approved drugs and devices available to children. It is a consistent theme: pediatrics is systematically underfunded, misunderstood, and ignored. The devastating health outcomes speak for themselves.

Despite compelling evidence that investment in children's health dramatically improves outcomes, reduces mortality, and yields immense long-term economic and societal impact, too many still view pediatrics through the antiquated lens of "small market," believing "kids don't get sick," or that solutions can simply be "repurposed from adults" – all fundamentally incorrect and tragically wrong.

This is why we created Fractal Pediatric Capital.

Becoming a leading doctor in my specialty of pediatric critical care (PICU) and a prominent advisor and angel investor within pediatric healthtech startup circles, I was shocked to learn that a mere 1% of healthcare investments are allocated to pediatric companies even though children comprise 25% of the world’s population and half of adult diseases originate in childhood. This absence of funding and lack of priority has led to a global crisis that is getting worse, not better. I’ve seen firsthand how early diagnosis, and the right treatments can prevent chronic diseases and save lives, yet the status quo persists and systemic issues fester. Currently, no fund exists with the necessary pediatric science and clinical expertise to know what solutions should actually be funded and have a legitimate chance at succeeding, let alone dedicated to a singular mission of driving healthtech innovations within
pediatrics.

At FPC, we apply our extensive pediatric knowledge and unique perspective to become a catalyst that transforms pediatric healthcare. FPC exists to fund the best pediatric healthtech companies – specifically targeting perinatal (neonatal, fetomaternal) health and pediatric chronic conditions - and to generate massive investor returns in the process. We will work tirelessly to be the advocate and voice for the healthcare of kids worldwide and drive the innovative breakthroughs that simply cannot be ignored.

Our vision of sweeping change that disrupts the pediatric industry cannot be done in isolation. FPC is so much more than us and this fund. We are a movement comprised of the best pediatric minds, regulators, philanthropic organizations, and business leaders who are 100 % aligned with the FPC vision. We are an entirely new type of investor that identifies capital efficient companies no one is even looking for and delivers thestrategic partnership they need to achieve financial success and impact, all while reducing risk.

Over the next several decades, we have a chance to reshape pediatric healthcare outcomes and Fractal will make sure the massive healthtech wave that’s coming doesn’t overlook kids. The time is NOW and I hope you will join us."
