Jana Mike is a physician-scientist, pediatric intensivist, and venture advisor dedicated to advancing pediatric healthcare through innovation. With over 15 years of experience in pediatric intensive care, she has treated thousands of critically ill children across diverse healthcare settings, from rural hospitals to leading medical institutions in Slovakia, Austria, Sudan, Nepal, and the United States.

A researcher at UCSF—the nation’s top research institution—for over 15 years, Jana has worked across bench science, translational research, and clinical trials. She has served as an NIH grant reviewer, secured ~$ 2M in NIH funding, and co-led a Gates Foundation-funded neurotherapeutic pipeline. Her expertise spans developmental neurobiology, neuropharmacology, and biomarker discovery.

Jana is actively involved in the venture and startup ecosystem. She is a Fusion Fund Expert Partner, a mentor to early-stage healthcare startups through Creative Destruction Lab (CDL), MIT AI web3 Studio, Canadian Entrepreneurs in Life Science (CELS), and the UCSF-Stanford Pediatric Device Consortium. She previously worked with Life Science Angels on deal screening and contributed to UCSF’s Office of Technology Transfer.
